DESIGNERS + FOUNDERS

TESH was founded by Tea and Shannon, who met through the equestrian scene in Palm Beach. The name combines the first two letters of their names, reflecting their shared vision to create stylish, organic sun hats for upscale equestrian events.

Shannon, with over 10 years of experience designing for an equestrian apparel company, brought her creative eye to the venture. Tea, a scientist dedicated to ocean preservation and education, identified a unique opportunity to merge their strengths and promote sustainability. Noticing a gap in the Palm Beach market for luxury sun hats, they saw a chance to bring these two worlds together.

Together, they launched TESH to fill this void, offering elegant, sustainable, and one-of-a-kind creations tailored to each customer. Their brand blends craftsmanship, individuality, and eco-friendly luxury, delivering a bespoke hat experience unlike any other.

SUSTAINABILITY BENEFITS

WE DESIGN BEAUTIFUL GOODS THAT REPLENISH
THE EARTH

Renewable Resource

Toquilla straw is harvested from a renewable source, the toquilla palm plant, which grows quickly and can be harvested multiple times. This reduces the environmental impact compared to non-renewable materials like synthetic fibers.

Low Carbon Footprint

The harvesting, weaving, and production of Toquilla straw products tend to have a lower carbon footprint compared to industrial manufacturing processes. The straw is harvested locally and woven by hand, reducing the need for heavy machinery and long transportation routes.

Support for Local Economies

The use of Toquilla straw supports traditional craftsmanship, especially in regions like Ecuador, where artisans create handmade products. This promotes fair trade and local employment, fostering sustainability on both economic and social levels.

CHOOSING QUALITY OVER CONSUMPTION

It’s widely acknowledged that the fashion industry contributes significantly to global environmental harm, including the depletion of natural resources. Brands are racing towards sustainability, but when faced with the reality of our impact, sustainability is no longer enough. We cannot simply maintain what is broken; we must regenerate. By choosing Toquilla straw, we honor the ecosystems that provide it, working in harmony with nature rather than against it. It's not about sustaining damage but restoring balance—returning to materials that grow, renew, and biodegrade, preserving the world’s natural beauty and vitality, while safeguarding the cultural heritage of the artisans who have passed down this craft for generations.
